Default Credit crunch

Pansie Potter (what a delightful name),

The best value of the lot is Llidl in Inca, if you have a car take a detour on the way up to PP. great for ridiculousy cheap water, beer(German) etc Also very good for cold meats, fruit and butcher meat.

Hello Smiddy

Thank you for that tip, I have often driven past the sign for Lidl in Inca but never stopped ( dont know why as I love going somewhere new to shop ! ) Now as the motorway by passes Inca we never seem to go through. I will have a look when we are there in April or May and as most of the produce maybe German should be good quality too. Thanks !!

Pansy

Me for one, Olive Oil and Bread have been more expensive in Spain than the UK for a number of years, regardless of the current situation.

Smile Has the Credit Crunch/Euro affected your holiday plans

I'm so excited because we've booked a week in PP in August, courtesy of Tesco vouchers. We decided to save them up and book with the Individual Traveller. We usually manage at least one trip each year, but weren't sure about this year due to the current economic situation. We'll eat out most nights as usual and I'm counting the days already. Couldn't stand the thought of another awful British Summer so blow the budget!!!!

Hiya, Yes you have got to earn it to spend it, pity the Bankers didn't follow a few basic
rules who got all of us in this mess. We will be out in PP for a holiday in May and July as usual, eating out as we normally do, if we don't go to our favourite restaurants they will
not be there in the future. I for one don't like change as Tango by the square was easy to walk to and always very enjoyable with many happy memories of our family meals there, sad to see it is just a hole in the ground, probably for the next two years !!

Dare I say it!! But I like Tango in its new position, the food is just as good, theview is better and you benefit from a good stroll!!! Its even more accessable now the new road is open.

We are out this Feb, April and September and will just have to put up with the poor exchange rates. I think some of the prices in some bars and restraunts are high but I put this down to the high charges for rents set by the Mr Bigs of PP who own the property.

One good side effect is that it will not encourage the younger binge drinker like Magaluff seems to attract to come here, lets hope the all inclusives stay away aswell as they can result in the demise of the small establishments we like so much.

Come on Holiday with a happy smile whatever the cost, you only live once.

Default Credit crunch

Agree GL - I also love the new Tango and also visited many timeslast year and will be in there again a a coupel of weeks time

When I spoke to Manalo in October, he intimated that if things went well ( pre credit crunch really biting remember ! ) he may well hang on to the new place and "let the youngsters run the new build in the square when it reopens "

What a grat idea that would be

We intend to come out in July for a fortnight. Nothing is booked yet but I am watching the "airlines" to see who is left standing in the next couple of months.

Flights paid for and accommodation booked for 4 glorious weeks in August.
I loved it last year when I picked up a UK Express and Daily Bulletin, one shouted "wettest, coldest August in living memory" and the other stated " warmest, driest August for decades"!! ... can you guess which was which?
lol!

Can't wait!

... and for the record... we love the new Tango too!
