Default Car hire without credit card?

Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help me , I am going to Majorca in June, and wish to hire a car (from the airport)
The problem is neither me or my other half have a credit card, could anyone please advise me if they know of any car hire firms we could use.

Many thanks

I may be very wrong but don't the car hire companies need a credit card as some sort of insurance? I can't see any car hire companies accepting cheques or cash..what about a debit card? Maestro is widely accepted.

It might be worth shopping around and getting a good deal on a credit card before you go.

Record Renta Car will accept payment by Debit Card providing you take out full insurance with them (normally about 3 euros a day).
