Question Scrapped Pedestrianisation???

Hi there, were visiting Puerto Pollenca in around a weeks time particularly the Llenaire area.

We last visited in 2008, very shortly after the new road had opened. I also saw No entry signs springing up along the road on the coast.

Reading this forum i believe this was for making this road for pedestrians only however is it right that this has been scrapped now???

If not, i hope the new road isnt too busy now as we are staying not too far from it.

Thanks.

Hi Sparked

We stayed in an apartment in Llenaire in June this year. The apartment did not back on to the new road but was only one road further towards the beach and we heard virtually no noise at all from the road. Even if your apartment backs on to the road I don't think the noise would be a problem.

I think that the pedetrinisation that you are talking about was scrapped - I'm sure that members with more local knowledge will respond in more detail.

Have a great holiday.

Thanks, when we went last time we noticed it was very quiet too. Hopefully if the pedestrianisation has been scrapped it wont shift a load of traffic n the new road making it busy. Either way the New road (MA2200) makes the coast road a little less busy and safer (in a way! lol).

The road around the bay is fully open but speed humps have been installed.

Thanks for confirming that. Wonder if the speed bumps have actually helped.

I think so, they are big humps and on some of the crossings which help to make the crossings more visable as well

Thats good, can take a long time to cross sometimes as the spanish arent really ones to stop. Even worse when i visited Sicilly though-that was just a death trap!
