Default End of season

Well, that's another great year coming to an end. As always PP has given me more pleasure than I can put into words. Great food, wonderful people and scenery that even after decades never fails to lift my spirits ( and the liquid ones )
To all you other PP addicts, I hope your time there was as enjoyable as mine if not better.
For my part my season starts again in February. Try it folks. No cars or beds on the beach. You can walk along the front and play spot the person. there is a tranquillity that has to be experienced to be believed. At night the air is filled with the pungent smell of the log fires, and more than enough restaurants open to keep you amused.

Yes I agree.

We had our flights for early March cancelled from Leeds B. Rebooking via Manchester cost us about 50% more.

But when you are the idle rich who cares!! its worth it.

Although in a way it's always a bit sad when things start closing down i am also looking forward to it. I love winter here, the peace and quiet, people having time to stop and chat and of course as a lot of you know, come January i get so excited because we have my favourite fiesta..........Viva Sant Antoni .

Look, I'm getting annoyed now. Just checked again and folk are in the sea now. We need a law passed that when we all get home no one is allowed on the beach as it causes us to get depressed. Sparky, you need to stand guard and stop em from going on there.

Today has been amazing weather wise, can't believe how many people were on the beach when we drove along earlier - we've been so lucky this week. Mind you, to bring it back to the 'End of Season' topic, we've found it fascinating how so much has closed down over the last day or so. Walking along the pine walk this evening, it's amazing how many shops and restaurants have boarded up for the winter now. We had lunch in one cafe, and spent the whole time watching the chap at the restaurant next door, where we had eaten on Wednesday evening, unscrewing all of the umbrella stands. By the time we walked past again this evening, the whole of the front of that restaurant was completely deserted.

This happens every year and it's mainly because staff contracts finish at the end of October, to keep the staff on for any extra days would mean they would have to pay them for the full month (employment laws here are very different to the UK ). Also it could also be a clause in the lease that if they remain open they have to pay another months rent which they probably would not have enough trade to cover.

When will places start to open up next year for the season. As Easter is quite late next year (Easter Sunday being 20th April) will it be Easter or will places begin to open earlier in the month?
