According to MDB - the opening of beaches has now been moved forward to Phase 2, and that Mallorca is likely to enter this phase next Monday.

I hope the MDB are correct this time (unlike with their report on the removal of time slots) it's not official yet but fingers crossed .

At the moment the shore line of Albercuix beach is littered with very small broken bit of pottery and shards of glass. We picked up some yesterday but the waves are washing more in, so please be careful. I presume that these came from when the beached yachts were smashed up to remove them.

The cleaning of the beaches of El Moll and La Cala is about to begin
The Residents Association is waiting for Costes to give permission to manage some services

The Associació de Veïns del Moll will be in charge of cleaning the beaches of Port de Pollença and Cala Sant Vicenç. Miquel Cifre, its president, indicates that they hope to start this task on Monday. The tender in question was put out to tender on Wednesday 3, it was not until Friday 12, however, that it was announced that the association chaired by Cifre " had taken out the contract ", explains Councilor Maria Buades. He added that they still " need more documents ."

They set up Formentor beach

On the other hand, Miquel Cifre points out that they have asked the Demarcation of Coasts to manage the umbrellas and hammocks on the beaches of the Moll. However, they are awaiting confirmation. In the event that it is a positive resolution, they hope to be able to start providing the service in early July.

Janey latest is that the sun bed operative is waiting confirmation from the Costas, without this they cannot put beds and brollies onto the beach.

I saw that too and noticed the different angle they’ve been placed at for good social distancing

I wonder if they are going to put them up down the Pine Walk end?

I'd rather they didn't so it leaves more space but I do understand some people need them.

Rather selfishly I have loved the absence of sunbeds and umbrellas on Albercuix beach. It feels so much more open with wide expansive views of the whole bay. The beach has had a different dynamic to it with local families drifting down in late afternoon for a few hours of sea and sun.

We too think the beach has been better without the beds and brollies! Everybody spaced out enjoying the beach.

The beach has been cleaned this morning by tractor and they have put poles in ready for the parasols as far down as the Bou De Mar shop, we too liked the beach without them.

Nice to look at a clean empty beach, but not so comfy to lie on or, without some shade.
