This is really sad news. Maureen and Kenny worked so hard to make Citrus a success. I agree with you Sparky that it is very short sighted of the council given the current economic climate. This is a loss to the Port. We can only wish Maureen and Kenny all the very best for their future and hopefully see them in a new venture.

The good news is that Maureen and Kenny will still be in PP but working for someone else, i will let you all know where they will be when i find out .
That's good in one way but it won't be the same as going to Citrus - that was just so comfortable - you knew you would be welcomed, the food would be superb and it was just so relaxing. And we have booked an apartment (for 3 weeks) just round the corner for October so were looking forward to many Citrus visits

Default Citrus

Bad News! Not many restaurants climb into the PP top 5 within 2 years of opening, it's a pity! At least Kennys cooking skills will not be lost to the port, will be interesting to see were he ends up.

And it's such bad news - and not just from our points of view (as diners) - Kenny and Maureen had worked so hard to make Citrus such a success - I remember her being so excited when they took over the 'Fletchers' lease and all her ideas for the 'new' restaurant - and that is only a couple of years ago. They have built up such a loyal client base and their 'fame' was expanding all the time! I really hope that some time soon they open up independently again and we can all enjoy their unique hospitality again ( not to mention superb cooking and lethal complimentary liqueurs!! - ask my husband)

I have had a message from Maureen and she asked me to tell all her friends on here that she has gone back to Tribecca and Kenny is now working at Nostalgia .
Lorenzo likes this.

Very good! That should suit his cooking skills, Nostalgia is always great for a bite to eat, good food and value, Kenny will no doubt enhance this.

Kennys chocolate shortbread is the best dessert in the port.
