Griffo,

Not sure whether they do childs portions as such but on one occasion we were there my mum ordered 2 starters rather than a starter and a main

Also, my 11 year old wanted the pasta starter but wasn;t sure about the aubergine sauce, so we had a cat with Jaime and he sorted her out with a tomato sauce.

I am sure that if you had 2 young children with you and you wanted to order a portion for them to share , they would be quite accommodating.

It's a great place ..... you won't be disappointed

oh Debz .......... just reread my post and laughed my head off

Of course what I should have said was we had a CHAT with Jaime who organised a tomato sauce for the pasta

On the other hand cat and ketcup come highly recommended :rollin :rollin :rollin

AT last ...due to no DIY mishaps ..we made it to O Lume on Sunday night!! You were all right in saying it is a little gem of a place and we must all spread the word. The service was friendly and professional and it was lovely to meet Jaime and chat with him about his charming restaurant (he certainly 'knows' us all from reading the comments posted on the forum!)

The meal was delicious..Chels had a seafood spaghetti to start followed by lamb fillets. I had two starters..a delicate cheese mousse on a tomato and onion salad , followed by crayfish en croute with a lovely creamy vegetable sauce. The house red was a smooth tempranillo We shared a dessert of casadielles ..I still laugh at the recipe someone posted ages ago as one of the ingredients being 'worn out nuts' Hmm :\ ! This was also really lovely..a bit like a nutty mince pie delicious with vanilla ice cream. Coffee , hierbas and the scrummy chocs to finish...excellent value at 50 euros.

Jaime many thanks for a great evening and we are looking forward to taking our friends for a meal at O Lume in June.

We really enjoyed our meal at O Lume and the service and Jaimes hospitality were faultless. We had a lovely meal and the trampo appertiser was delicious.

My only criticism was the very stark lighting and I wonder if this might deter people from going in..it did us the first couple of times . Maybe it's just me but atmospheric lighting and a few candles would have made a great evening that little bit more special.

Debz, as a remedy for the stark lighting, diners could wear sunglasses. I could just see a party of four, all sporting shades like the Beatles in their "Revolver/ Paperback Writer" days, picking at their food, with Jaime hovering. (The food, though, was brilliant.) Been there twice, and will surely return.

It's getting busy but why oh why isn't it packed to the ceiling most nights?
If you haven't tried O'lume yet you are missing out on one of the best places in PP.
Add it to your "must try" list I promise you'll be adding it to your "must go" list for future visits. Tell him I sent you :eek

Take care.

It isn't as busy as it could be because for some reason they choose not to advertise with us & it is not that easy to find.

So if any of you do visit, & it's well worth it, do drop them a hint.

Thanks very much!

Webmaster.
