Default Bring your own chairs ????

Interesting bit in the Bulletin today saying that the annual contract for the Hamacas still hasn't been let this year !!!!!

Apparently the Co who provided the service last year lost so much money that they don't want to bid again .

They usually start May 1st , which is only the end of next week so looks like bring Your Own this year , guys !!!

Maybe if the council reduced the tax for the operating company they would do it. If not I assume they'll use Emser which is what certain parts of the council wanted.

Can't remember how much they cost, but is not something around a tenner a day? (bed & umbrella). If you hired one every day that's quite a hole in your budget. The r/e doesn't help but perhaps if they dropped the price more people would use them, especially outwith high season. It WOULD be cheaper to buy one.

Unbelievable !!!!

It's May 1st and no sign of the hamacas ( No panicko , Bella, I'll always find room for you to perch on my inflatable !!!! or the beach being cleaned up . Just walked the frontline and the day that they have announced unemployment levels of 22 % , twice the EU average of the EU , here in the Balearics there is no sign of encouragement for the main market they have. If I was a restauranteur , here, I'd be pretty peed off .

Waste thousands of euros building a foootpath to Pollenca, which , in reality will be enjoyed by under 5 % of tourists but they can't sort out a major revenue spinner !!!!

Sparky, really think we should start thinking of a power takeover of these people ???

BonysLad

Only consoled by the fact that the " King" ( Elvis ) returns to Mulligans tonight !!! The season must be on us .

we spoted a couple of loungers in Eroski on Sunday when we arrived so hot footed it back up on Monday morning for them..they were the "nylon & springs" variety and were 32.99...(without a car we could not really look for any outside the port) and we did wonder if they would support us but am glad to say they held up all week.I know a number of the cafe/restaurant owners are complaining as the lack of beds mean no buisness for them..

Cor!! That's some amount of sand Bar Tamarrels are going to have to buy (about 1 mile of beach). Seriously, there used to be a law in Spain that all beaches are public beaches, i take it this still stands.
