Default Missing Christmas Post

Some of you will have noticed that at the beginning of November a considerable number of properties in the Port were given new addresses. In some cases just a different number but in others (eg El PInaret) completely different streets. If yours is one of these properties you may have noticed that at the beginning of December you stopped receiving mail.
The explanation for this is that the local Post Office decided to stop delivering mail that did not have the new address or to houses which were not displaying the new number.
What happened to the mail not delivered?
I am told that anything with a return address was returned.
But what about mail without a return address eg hundreds of Xmas cards?
That question just received the usual Spanish shrug so it may be fair to presume it has been destroyed. Iīm told it certainly isnīt at the Post Office.
Now - on 24th December the Post Office had a change of heart and decided to recommence delivering mail showing the old address!
A cynic may suggest that the decision was taken as an excuse to not deliver the increased volume of mail for Christmas and has been conveniently recinded before the Kings!!!!!!!!!!1

We have had this problem too in Llenaire for a few months. Also find that the postman delivers to the right number postbox - but in the wrong block! A couple of times we have had to fish out our bills from the wrong box as they are not locals and the post remains there for months. A real problem if bills are not paid by direct debit!

I had been to Endesa and changed my address but as they were a slow in changing I did not receive the last bill. There has been a definite reduction in post to our blocks as no Endesa bills have been delivered this month.

Hi Lollipop

Where did you go when you went to Endesa, was it in Alcudia next to the fereteria LLomgar? I seem to remember an office there when we had to have the ICPs fitted some time ago.

Our address changed and have had no post since before Christmas.

Also, is it easy to change supplier, like we do in UK to get a better deal??

Endesa have moved their office. It is now in the large electrical shop (Millar I think) opposite Mecadona.

If you go into the post office and ask why you havnīt had any post they will probably find a few letters for you that have suddenly turned up out the back. Everyone I know that has been in has come out with something. I went in around the middle of January and collected 6 Christmas cards which they had for some reason not been able to deliver despite them having the correct address on.

Thanks DC. Yes, Millar is opposite Mercadona. I should have called in last month as I wont be back until end of March.

Such a poor service from the Post office for all you who have missed Xmas post!! Luckily I am probably only missing a few Endesa bills.

El Gordo, as Deanscroft says it is opposite Mercadona in Milar. It is very straightforward to change details. I was also able to get a duplicate bill. As for changing I know people who have changed to Iberdrola but they get problems and the main office is in Palma.
El Gordo likes this.
