What do you think PP is missing
Now back home in the cold miserable weather & was just thinking how great PP is, which got me thinking what if anything do any of you think is missing from the place. Could be anything from a good laundrette, kid's club, sandwich shop or anything. Just curious on peoples thoughts.

Currently PP is only missing myself enjoying the sun on the beach ...
I'd like to see a proper children outdoor play area with slides, swings, etc.
Not much there at the moment.
Another nice thing to have (not necessarily PP-specific) would be a tourist transport card (weekly) for the bus services. It be handy to get around between PP, Pollensa and Alcudia.
Also a smartphone-app (ios and android) with updates about PP, offers (shops & restaurants), event information, etc.

There is now Mike. There is a lovely new play area with all those things and more beside the Police station/Council offices, in what was the old school .

What is missing is Winter Tourism and the promotion of it, there is a lot more to Pollensa than sitting on the beach in your speedos.
The sky is bright blue with full sun in the winter and food tastes just as good as in the summer.
Visit in the winter, you might like it (if you can find a flight.....)

A 50 FOOT wall built around the town, to keep out THIEVES, PICKPOCKETS, MUGGERS, LAGER LOUTS, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, ILLEGAL STREET TRADERS, etc, etc ,etc!!!
PP and surrounding areas, are beautiful, you could be anywhere in the world and it would be hard to beat!!!!!!! ( Even if it is going to be raining at times during the next fortnight!!!)

Thanks Sparky
Will look out for it in two weeks time.
Was only aware of the play area close to the Guardia Civil (opposite the beach) and the small play area on Carrer de Roger de Flor.

Sparky, the new playground in the old school is fantastic. Only problem we find is that sometimes in the evening, it's full of local kids who are a little too old for it and not keen to share! Usually deserted during the afternoon, which is great if it's not too hot. It would be great to have something similar down at the beach as well if you could swing it!

Replace the staff in the tourist office with ones who actually enjoy their job and are pleased to be able to help someone with an enquiry Of course we may have caught them on a bad day but a smile and 'pleased to help' attitude wouldnt go amiss

Is it on that bit of waste/car park type land?
Cheers.
And hopefully it won't get vandalised like the rest of them !

No Nick, that has now been levelled out/gravelled and is now officially a car park.
The new playpark is in the area which was the playground for the old school just off the square and across the road from the Circulo Cultural .

Aah cheers Sparky, that's cleared that up then. At least that's one more scruffy area sorted out and my little lad will be over the moon when he sees the new play park. It must have only been done since early July then ??

Here it is Nick, as posted on FB.
Quote:
Through Councillor Services, Martin Rock, the governing City Council expresses its revulsion toward the vandalism that occurred this morning in central Michael Capllonch.
In the old courtyard of the municipal building, currently under construction to install a children's recreation area, as well as sports and recreational areas for young people, there have been incidents of vandalism before and all of have been put into operation.
The vandalism consisted of the apedregament games, breaking in two places in the basket, basketball, breaking and escampadissa rubber material prepared for leveling the ground, and the use of children slides as skate ramps, having them completely striped, which could pose a danger to young children.
The total value of damage is around € 1,800. In the words of Councillor services, " is extremely outrageous behavior of a few damaging the heritage of all, especially in these times, the economic efforts to be made to improve the environment and urban furniture that is all . ".
