Its to stop the sand blowing onto the road in the winter months. It's been quite a success so far.

I think the groynes made a big difference last winter. It's amazing how something so simple can be so effective isn't it.

I've seen them further up but done remember them being opposite Llenaire Restaurant before. Do they take them down in the summer?

Don't the holes fill up with sand It must be a bu**er trying to find them again to put them back up - a bit like trying to find the hole in the lawn for your rotary clothes line after the winter
