Our Top Five:

1. C'an Ferra - beautiful and bountiful fish and some lovely wine choices in simple but vibrant surroundings!
2. Corb Mari (for lunch) - a favourite spot for years; the staff are so warm and welcoming, and the food is always of high quality with a great balance of flavours.
3. Brisa's (on the Pine Walk) - we adore their mixed seafood paella and a scrumptious Pollensan white wine, also the waiters, quite a bunch of characters!
4. Eolo (for their pizzas) - always a bit disappointed at how little praise this place gets (I'm guilty of forgetting them too); I have happily scoffed many fabulous, oh-so-perfectly-thin pizzas here. Highly recommend their house 'Eolo' pizza...
5. Stay - only ordered from their tapas menu but were really impressed by both the quality and quantity of the 6 different dishes (loved their saucy squid dish the most!).

I know, no 'bottom 5'...! I DO really just want to say though that the quality of the meat at Tots was a major disappointment. The service was lovely and hence we found it hard to complain (aside from a meek 'well I found it a bit underdone' from Mum re her duck). In all honesty she will quite happily eat very pink duck meat but found this tough and tasteless in addition to being too rare. My sirloin was thin and gristly with very little flavour. The salad, veggies and chips were lovely and it's a shame that their meat just isn't up to scratch, at least on this occasion. Great red wine though!!

Of the ones I have been to:

1. O'Lume........................ fantastic food at a great price!
2. El Posito ..................... great food and service.
3. Celler la Parra............ lovely old restaurant.
4. Dragon Oriente...........great value, hit the spot.
5 Mojito Grill ................. best steak in years!

Honourable mention to Maxims in the square which was very nice.

Dishonourable mention to Rosa Blanca. Ripped off twice by the owneress. Full English advertised at €6.95 inc Orange Juice. First charged for orange juice at €1.80 because 'it was after 1pm' when we arrived. Second, charged €1.95 bcause it was again 'after 1pm' ....... this time when we paid!

Beware.....

After much deliberation amongst The Cumberland's
1.Siller- easily the best ,this lad knows what he is doing,& his wife is a splendiferous cook.
2.La Llonja, 3 visits, could not find fault, how does he keep it so consistent.
3.Celler La Parra -superb Mallorcan food in a beautifully designed cellar.decent owner.
4.Bodeguita (unsure of spelling) m.o.d, Incredible value in a no nonsense bar, mainly locals.
5-El Posito - as always excellent.

Wow this is difficult, what we all agreed was that the Port is blessed with many great places to eat, the following top 5 was done as a result of all 4 of us compiling our own then working out our joint family favourites.

1 Celler la parra
2 Citrus
3 C'an Josep
4 Little Italy
5 Siurell

All the above served outstanding fresh food on our visits, also loved Stay, C'an Ferrar, Tolos, Bodeguita, Laguna, and a special mention to cellar la premsa in Palma. The only negative eating experience we had was Brisas on pine walk, the chicken Paella had splintered bones with every forkfull, shame as we had fond memories of there from previous visits. To all you visitors preparing foe a trip you have some eatery treats in store!

Edit; oops should add o'lume and Tango as other lovely eating experiences though service at o'lume was painfully slow (3 and half hours). Goes to show how difficult it is to decide on a top 5!

Default Our top five

Just back from another wonderful two weeks in PP. Tried a few new places this year, so here is our list.

1. C'an Josep - delicious lamb and desserts to die for!
2. Nico's - their set menu of three courses for 13 euros was superb
3. Coral Bar - good value, tasty homecooked food and brilliant chips!
4. Laroc - How we wish we had visited here last year - in my opinion the pizzas rival those in Little Italy but the staff are nicer (and you don't need to book a week in advance!!).
5. Tiberi - interesting menu and nice location on the corner just off the square. Good house rosado too !

Bodeguita is more a bar than a restaurant but they do a very good MDD at lunchtime, it is in C/Roger De Flor opposite the carpark .

1. La Llonja (fantastic food, service and setting)
2. Ca'n Cuarassa (only second because La Llonja just wins on setting)
3. Na Ruixa ( good food, friendly service and extras on the house)
4. O Lume ( lovely courtyard, good food and great host)
5. La Cabana ( great tapas, nice quiet courtyard and nice couple in charge)

We also tried and can recommend Ca'n Torrens in the square. Nice sitting outside the church, simple, well cooked food and cheerful service. Also, Ca'n Pancho. Traditional, bustling place with decent home cooked food and good atmosphere. El Casinet. Good food and friendly service, our only complaint, it all arrived a bit too quickly, but still enjoyable. In Old Pollenca we returned to Taberna del Tiemple which was better than previously and tried Ca'n Teresa which has a limited evening menu but was excellently cooked. All in all we had some great meals, good ones and no bad experiences to report.

Default Love Reading Everyone's Fav's

Can't help coming back to this thread and seeing if my favourites are mentioned.

One I did notice was the Mirimar Hotel .I always stop by there for a drink as I love people watching at that spot but never considered eating there . Perhaps I should give it a go next time round.

We have stayed at the Daina on a number of occassions but the evening meal does not look appetising as it's all buffet and I prefer a nice restuarant at night.

Oh I wish I was eating at Stay or La Longa tonight for the food and the views !Will just have to look at the webcam and dream on.

Cheers

4) Sparrow A gem of a restaurant superb value and great steaks

4) Los Faroles First time and wont be the last great fish

Sorry couldn't split the last 2.

El Posito would have been there but it was like eating in a fast food restaurant. More of that when I get chance to post my trip report.
