The Hustlers 2012

Any news on The Hustlers format for 2012 and venues.

First visit this year is in March, hoping to catch up with them somewhere.

I have sent an email and am waiting to here back from them .
Guillermo has been playing a few gigs around the Port so i am sure they will play their regular venues this year.

As far as I understand it, The Hustlers are still playing a Friday night gig in O'Hara's.

Marcos Pereira is now on bass guitar and Guillermo Segui is on lead guitar and Luis still on drums. Carlos Pereira is still helping out with vocals and acoustic guitar.
They are also doing some gigs at Hostal Paris on Sunday evenings.

Guillermo and some of the Fat Cats jazz band are also doing a fairly regular gig at Max's Cafe on Sunday afternoons.

We'll be out in PP again in late Feb so will see which gigs are happening then and will post on return.

It was a sad day when Chris Anthony left. I am sure that everyone will miss him on Vocals, he had an amazing repertoire of songs. Hope he and wife Jilly are doing well in South of France.

Good luck Marcos, smashing bloke, However, the Sunday stints in Hostel Paris will affect Marcos' John Lynam Band Masterclass at The Hideaway?

Guillermo is a fantastic lead guitarist, great to see him take control, We may even see more traditional Spanish songs with Guillermo and Marcos' dad Carlos singing?

Have heard That Guillerm and Luis are playing with 2 new members but still as the Hustlers ..... Anyone seen them? Would love to hear some reports

Yes they now have Fernando Gabriel Casali playing with them on keyboards - as well as Marcos Pereira on bass guitar.

They are still gigging in the Shamrock Bar in Alcudia on Saturday evenings - and hopefully still O'Haras's on Fridays.

I'm going out to PP very soon so will post again when I've caught up with them.

Guillermo is an excellent lead guitarist, I believe he stepped aside and did base when Chris Anthony joined the band. He has a good voice but not the range that Chris had, so I don't think you will get the same repertoire.

Marcos is a good base player who played with the John Lynam band, his father Carlos often supports with acoustic guitar and singing. ( I have heard some excellent traditional songs from him when he accompanies Guillermo at end of season sessions at the Flora. )

The band will be different but definitely worth watching. The addition of the keyboards will bring a new dimension to their music.

Can't wait to see how they develop, has anyone found any video of them at Shamrock or O'Haras.

Was over at Easter and didn't see anything saying they are playing O'Haras on Fridays - anyone know if they are ?

Over next few weeks (boys one weekend / girls the next) and just want to see whats on as we felt the resort was quieter than normal over Easter

Yes i am told they have been playing an early evening set in Neptuno and O'Haras from about 22:30 pm .

They were playing in oharas on Fri 30th March because we were there.

If I had never seen the Old Hustlers I would have probably left the bar raving about them but unfortunately whilst they are still REALLY good and Guillem is a great guitar player and sings very well .... Their set list has shifted slightly and it's the things they didn't play that night that I loved the best ( Stereophonics /kings of Leon /killers/ Floyd for example )

For me Chris gave them something extra special ...... I always said they were the best band I had seen for free by a country mile and better than lots I had paid to see

Now I could be doing them a disservice because we had to leave before the very last set and also for many this slight shift may be more to their liking.So I came away a touch disappointed but I guess this was because of my incorrect expectations ..... For some reason when I heard they had a new member of the band I just assumed it was a Chris replacement and they would carry on as before.

Suffice to say we will still be in OHaras whenever we are in PP and a little part of me tells me that when I next see them I will know they are different and accept them for the band they are rather than the band they were.

Saw them at Shamrock last Saturday and they still managed to pack the place. They were different but still very good.

For anyone hoping to catch The Hustlers they are playing on both Monday and Friday evenings at O'Hara's again.
I think that the gig at The Shamrock in Alcudia is a regular Saturday night one as well.

Saw them at the Shamrock last night and they are just as good as ever. They gave a spot to a new band called the New York Rose who had a strong female singer. All good stuff.

They play every Saturday at the Shamrock from 20.30 until 23.30.
