Default November trip report

Apologies if this is in wrong place but a lot of the report is to do with food and drink. First time I have visited PP in November 3 night stay from 10th to 13th staying in the Galeon. I have stayed in the Galeon before and loved it this time it was good but there are some improvements required ie no kettle , no bathrobes/slippers available when it states on website these are in the room. Living area very sparse etc etc. Arrived Saturday afternoon cloudy but balmy. Checked in at Galeon mix up with one of the rooms we had booked but eventually sorted. Headed into town walking along the beach road place was deserted quite odd for me as I have never visited in Nov before went to Circulo cultural as knew they has a jazz band playing well bit of a joke there was a band but no jazz music and a strange chap singing Tom Jones songs. Sat outside as it was so warm - 2 small beers , 2 coffees , 2 small baguettes/cheese and ham , 8 glasses of cava bill came to 18 euros unbelievable value !!! Then went to Los faroles for paella , coconut pudding , water and wine bill total 84 euro for 4 good value. Then headed back for early night the beds in the Galeon were wonderful so comfortable.
Next morning lovely weather and day of the fira in pollensa we had a wonderful day the place was buzzing great atmosphere lots of shopping then people watching from the square with few glasses of cava then off to el temple for late lunch superb paella and mixed salads to start then pork casserole followed by cheesecake and bread pudding with water and lovely wine bill total 52 euro for 4 fantastic value. More shopping then home to the Galeon for relax in the rooftop spa. That evening we ate in the Galeon as a huge storm arrived torrential rain and wind. Galeon food was good homemade tomato and basil soup followed by lasagne.

Part 2 to follow.

Hi Elaine, we have just returned from the Galeon and have also had a mix up with the rooms. We booked using Booking.com and booked a sea view apartment with a terrace, kitchen, seating area, TV, bathrobes, slippers and KETTLE. We were given room 10, this is a very small room, yes it has a juliet style balcony but you cannot sit on it. There is no where to sit as the bed takes up the whole room, no kitchen, no TV, no bathrobe etc. The fridge and coffee maker are opposite the toilet!! the bathroom is open and the door to the room is directly off the sun roof hence no privacy. There are stairs to a downstairs area but we were told someone else was in that room (which we suspect was a longe/kitchen area) We were very dismayed but luckily they had one apartment left without a sea view so we asked to be moved. Had we not been moved we would have checked out immediately as the room did not match the description at all. When we checked out we were charged for the sea view room which was £30 more in total than if we had booked the non sea view room.
Having said all that, in the end we enjoyed our stay. Bernito more than made up for the mix up, nothing was too mich trouble. He ensured we got an early breakfast on our last day and generally made us welcome and made us laugh!! I would go back most deffinately but with an email prior to booking to ensure the room mix up doesnt happen again.

Ahhh Bernito

Shows how one person giving great service can make up for a multitude of failures elsewhere

We were so pleased to bump into him when we ate in the galleon last week

He is a lovely chap and a hero in our family ever since he acted quickly to administer vinegar to a nasty wasp sting my daughter received in Trio one evening about 12 years ago
Sparky and JMD40 like this.
