Default Google Streetview

i know there's other threads in here on Google Streetview but my use of Streetview to date has been more novelty value - checking out your own house etc - but when the instructions to our villa in Pollensa arrived today I couldn't really picture where it was. Google Streetview to the rescue!

I was able to follow the route through the narrow streets, check out where to park the car (which is on a different street from the villa) and even see the front door and where the key safe box is situated! As we arrive in the dark all of which is invaluable...

Google Street view is perfect for taking your own little tour back here at home if your missing PP. Looks like much/all of the images were taken in winter as its so so quiet.

I think this will be updated soon Sparked! When we were in the port back in June this year the Google street view van was driving around filming new images, my husband and father-in-law walked straight in front of it going to the square!

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I don't think it has been mentioned on here recently. (Apologies if it has!!)

Google Streetview has been updated and the images are now from the height of the season in June 2012, rather than the deserted winter scenes that went before.

Nice to see the beach busy and the sun shining!

It is also positive for the Port. Anyone who has not been-before could have seen the previous images and thought that they were going to a ghost-town!

I'm going to go off for a virtual walk-about - See if I can find my car parked anywhere...

Well...that's my plan blown.
"My" car parking area is still February 2011!
It's like a bizarre episode of Dr Who - I walk upto the street corner in June, and just as I turn it we go back to winter!

The Port is a bit of a hybrid of images. The frontline is high summer, whereas as soon as you go into the streets behind, it transforms to winter - Quite odd.

Causes chaos with your virtual baggage allowance. Not sure what to put on. A bobble hat and flip-flops? Gloves and some ill-fitting Speedos?

Yeah, it still shows it being built. Can't stop going on street view with the holiday not far off now.
