It sounds like you are trying to access the Barnard Hamilton webcam, since it has been down this is the problem that it gives.

The sail and surf wecam, however, should come straight up once you manage to login to it (perhaps using the Mozilla Firefox browser in preference to Internet Explorer). This webcam is only live for about 15 seconds but if you press F5 on your keyboard it will refresh the picture again.

Unfortunately WW, it is the Sail and Surf that causes a lot of us problems! I have never been able to log into it. RIP the Bernard Hamilton webcam

No Sparky, I have something else loaded - dont ask me what, as not sure what does what on my laptop, its slow enough loading with all the photos I have on it, so I wont load anything else up. I dont usually have any problems at all, but S&S simply says it cant load on my machine - so give up trying lady! Just have to come out and see for myself!

Thanks though for providing this great facility, which helps to keep many of us going when back in the gloomy UK.
Thanks for that WW - but I can't find it -please help.

I can view the Sail&Surf webcam on my laptop - no problem.
But it won't show on my desktop, I just get some weather dials

Both PC's running Internet Explorer.
Laptop on Windows XP
Desktop on Windows 7

I didn't realise that so many people had trouble accessing the S & S webcam. Never had any problems myself, luckily. I use both desktop and laptop, running windows XP and 7 and always use Firefox as my browser. I can only suggest that perhaps you make sure you have got Java installed on your pc. Other than that, perhaps your firewall is stopping it, I just use the windows one. I'm by no way an expert but hope this helps.

Default New webcam link for S&S

Hi all,
Not sure what position everyone is in re accessing webcams? Just recently the Sail & Surf link seems to have died from our computer, although it has always been fine otherwise. I found this (German link I think) on a general site and it seems to connect fine again. Worth a try if you are still having problems. This is using ordinary IE.

all these little things add up...PP & it's businesses not promoting themselves....

Not sure where the problem is but I can no longer get it, have tried different browsers (including Firefox) and different web addresses (their German one), other friends of mine have also lost the site. I miss it so much, especially with our inclement! weather at the moment, I'm having to satisfy myself with the panoramic photos of the bay which have been posted recently.

Whaley and SMG

I think the problem may be you dont have the latest browser or plugin installed. When I went to the site from the link posted by Ryansclan using IE it did not work on my machine. A yellow box appeared just below the address bar asking me if I wanted to install a Web - Axis plugin (it is easily missed). Click on this and follow instructions. I did this and then the webcam appeared as if by magic. You may need to check your settings to allow downloading of plugins etc if you don't get this message..

Hope this helps

Adios

Dave

Thanks just followed your instructions and have it working on Windows XP and IE6 sp3 which is really old so if I can get it working I would imagine anyone can.

Bella - oh dear nice to know we are not alone! Do as I have done - switch on the tv and pour yourself a nice glass of Rioja! - works wonders!

Hope your day improves and have a wonderful Christmas.
