Default An alternative Puerto?

We know this might sound a daft question to ask in this forum, but can anyone suggest another resort that offers the same kind of package as Puerto? Probably, but not neccessarily, in Spain or Portugal.

Having returned just a couple of weeks ago after a 2 year break, we still love Puerto but we really do want some alternatives - especially now that our children have up and gone (but that does not mean we have become boring old whatsits).

A self-caters we have tried other places over recent years with little success and some disasters (Cala Bona, yugh, need we say more?). We like what Puerto offers - a great beach (and even an alternative beach), traditional old heart and activities still there, a good range of eating places, overall high cleanliness, good public transport, other places of interest within easy reach and around an hour from an airport... and a LACK of manic night life.

We know about Sollar and have 'done' Minorca, so we are probably now talking about somewhere other than the Ballearics. I know it's a hard one and we won't get an exact replica elsewhere, but any suggestions or signposting from Puerto veterans would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Edward and welcome to the forum.

This question has been asked a few times before...here's a link to the latest answer and Pollensa's response:

You are more than welcome to join the Tapas Bar - just let me know if you need any help.

Jane thanks for the welcome and the helpful redirecting and I will follow up on the Tapas bar. And snowy thanks for the tip about Cuba – for me there would be the added interest there of seeing a society on the edge of some pretty momentous changes coming.

Nerja - Spain - Costa Del Sol
38 miles east of Malaga and I suggest a private Villa or Apartment at El Capistrano village (Google it)
Same PP feel about the place but obviously different.
