Exclamation Heat Wave

In PP keeping out of the sun today temp 40 c too hot, wind feels like a hair
dryer on your face. Hope there are no power cuts as everyone turns on
their air con, drinking plenty of congas water with a splash of white wine and ice is my answer.

There's an interesting post today in the blog alcudiapollensa: Burning In My Heart

Sunscreen (whilst of course essential) is not the key defence against heatstroke but drinking liquids & apparently those with sugar & salts such as non-caffeine sports drinks. So do take care everybody & keep drinking (the right stuff!).

I will need my thermals then. Sorry folks don't mean to be flip but it was that hot at 10pm last night. Yes Zelda you are right, heatstroke can hit you even if you stay in the shade.

I heard it was up to 44 degrees! One of the bar staff at Guru said it was blowing up from from Africa. We had air-con, fortunately, in our apartment but when you opened the door to go onto the balcony it was like opening an oven! I've never known heat like that before. But got back home today and the temp here was 19 degrees. I know which I'd rather have, and it's not back home.

Just read Pollensa's post - alcudiapollensa: Burning In My Heart, and I've just repeated what that said. I should have read that first!
