Any update on this one please?

Also, hubby has developed toothache that has reached "take out" proportions. May well manage to get it seen to before we come over, but what is the best dentist around locally open over the next couple of weeks please, just incase.

The dentist I use is called Ramas and his surgery is opposite the swimming pool and health centre in the Port.

Thank you. Hopefully he wont be needed, but cant be too careful when it comes to tooth pain risking spoiling the holiday.

If the worst comes to the worst and it is extracted I can highly recommend a dentist in Palma who does implants at a third of the UK price. Wifey and I both have had one and two years later are still very pleased that we did.

Thanks portofan, I did indeed see your posts, but as they were a few years old I just wondered if there was any update on it ie if they had closed or moved. I have taken note of them. Hubby visiting dentist here today after a whole day and night of counting the hours until his next allowance of pain killers. Not looking good.

OMG Bella! I recall a couple of years ago you had a special break in Mallorca and poor hubby had a tooth problem. Hope all is fixed asap so you can go away and have a great time without the worry of him being in pain. There really isn't anything worse than toothache - except, of course, a man with toothache!

Crikey - you are right! I had conveniently forgotten that pricey trip - literally!! I dont think I will remind him as he may think each visit over is doomed to be a tooth problem!

Have now got 5 dentists who I can call on. May also look at the one in Palma as hubby is having the tooth out on Friday a couple of days before we fly and they have told him he will need a implant. The cost is ridiculous - again - and have seen that it is a better option to have it done in Mallorca. Obviously will check it all out first though.

Bella,

Just be careful cos from experience you need to have the proper follow up with implants. The healing process needs to be followed up after a couple of weeks and the post for the implant in the jawbone really needs to be properly welded for about six months before final fitting.

Tourist dentistry might be cheaper but you really should check you'll be here and insist on the proper back up.

Hasta la seaman

Fantastically useful site!! Tripped over a couple of weeks back and chipped my two front teeth (yes, it did hurt). They're doing ok ish, but very sensitive. Was too frightened to see my own dentist as am sure she'd have taken them out (and adjacent ones too!). Am being very careful eating, but needed some "just in case" information for holiday next week!! Now I have it!
