Hi all, been looking for a suitable thread to post this so brought it back from the dead.

We bought a 2nd hand car last August and informed that it was taxed for the year, is the same posted earlier (renew in October) still applicable, if so I'm assuming that we will receive a reminder this October (seems odd not renewing on the anniversary of purchase).

Is the car tax the green slip?

Thanks for anticipated responses.

The car tax is normally deducted from your bank account together with your other taxes in September. No reminder is given. This tax does not seem to go up over the years, unlike the other taxes.

I believe they used to deduct in at the end of September, but in Alcudia this changed to the middle of September.

The green slip is not the car tax, it is the registration details. There is no receipt for payment except for your bank statement.

Hi Alcanadakid, thanks for the response. I also asked around a couple of others last night and found where to go in Pollenca and also got it paid at the bank - will definitely be setting up a direct debit so I don't get hit by another fine!

It's the Agencia Tributaria office next to the museum in Pollenca old town.
