Regarding Monarch Flights. We have this week received an email from Monarch to inform us that there has been a change of schedule for our flight booked for May. We are most annoyed because the new times given are quite unacceptable - arriving in Palma after 10pm (would have involved extra on the car hire) and on the return not arriving in Manchester until after midnight. There was no option given on the email except to accept the new timings, so a rapid email was returned to them requesting a refund. Waited 2 days - no response, so today had to make a lengthy phone call to an 0871 no. to see what we could do. The result was 'no refund' only a change of flight possible. So, we had no choice but to change our date of departure and return. Fortunately, as we are retired we could do this, but what about all the people who had booked time off work?
This change also required us to cancel the car hire booking (£20 charge) and re-book for the new dates.
Lesson learned - we will think twice before booking with Monarch again, certainly, we will not book flights a long way ahead!

My duaghters also had Monarch flights changed. Their return flight was moved from Tuesday to thursday. They were however given the option to change or accept refund,which they did and they then each received a payment as compensation. Sorry you weren't so lucky.
