I very good point lollipop and one I go along along with 100 o/o. Us holidaymakers are only there for a short time!!
I seen it only once while I was passing one late evening, other than that I would never have known about it other than reading this thread of course.
Fil6699.... Glad to hear about your change of heart and sharing it with us. I agree with every word, thought that area was looking really great this year with the two new beach bars and little play area for the kids.

I'm also one for a bit of a quiet life whilst I am in PP. It really is a tonic to be there.
But..... things have continued to change over the last 20 years or more that I have known PP and I am sure will continue to do so..... in fact it's natural that it will do.
I have seen changes in the amount of rentable accommodation in PP, the increase in the number of Hotels, the changes in the choice / type of restaurants and bars, the changes in shops / supermarkets, the changes in the road system / pedestrianisation (including better / quicker access via the motorway from Palma) and in fact the changes to the harbour / marina and also to the actual beach itself from the harbour down to Llenaire.
Thankfully things are still pretty good at present and 'nobody' (presumably locals and present visitors) would want another 'Alcudia' (or similar) where we presently have PP. We will just have to hope that the Local Authority think on similar lines and that they are 'somewhat choosy' at what they will allow in PP in future years. Property-wise I'm sure it will get bigger! Just look a Google Maps (satellite view) and see the areas either being developed or still to develop - there is still quite a way to go!

Water Parks on the beaches
We know this was a touchy subject last year for some ! We were wondering if anyone had seen or heard if the inflatable had been erected on the beach again this year.It was opposite Hotel Uyal.

There is one up in ALcudia - looks very similar to the one in PP last year
Rumour has it that the one in PP was stored next to the tennis courts and was sadly eaten by goats. Of course I have nothing to back up these rumours...

I think after the initial fears it turned out to be an asset to the port didn't it, everyone seemed to have fun there!! I assume it will be back again, a large outlay just to use it once!

I don't think it was purchased by the council SWS, they just awarded the licence to a company called Glide Sports SL who provided all the equipment.

Hi Sparky, i assumed it was the beach company who bought it, unless they made enough money last year not to worry about the start up costs!!

I could be wrong but i don't think it has anything to do with "The Association of Residents of Port de Pollença " who operate the beds, brollies and upkeep of the beach contract .
