Have just tried the 'App'! (after downloading another app to read QR codes on my Android phone). Anyway the code takes you a mobile internet site which lists all the participants with another link to the Google Map for their location. It looks good & is worth trying out when you have Free Wifi otherwise you'll need to use 3G which may be pretty expensive with a UK phone. Interesting idea! but a printed map be easier especially after a few drinks & tapas!

A QR code is a 21st Century version of a bar code. You scan it with your phone using a QR code app on your phone. Once scanned the code contains instructions for iPhone to do something, usually to load a webpage.

You need to install an app first. On my iPhone I use the free app QR Reader for iPhone. If you have Android, Blackberry or Windows Phones you need to download an app for your phone.

Here is how to download and install the QR Reader for iPhone:

1. Go to the App Store on your iPhone

2. Search for and select the free version of QR Reader for iPhone

3. Click on the FREE button to install

Once it has installed run the app, point your iPhone at the QR code on your computer screen. The app will automatically scan the QR code and the Ruta del Tapeo page will magically load.

You can then select a bar and be taken to a location map.

Hope that helps.

The tapas route is just such a fantastic way of getting people to try places they wouldn't normally go to - such as La Cabana, which I've been past countless times but for no good reason never gone in... I really hope that they do it again next year and that they manage to keep it at such a low price!
