Default Majorca Prices

Sorry to harp on about my recent visit to G.Canaria, it's the only place i've been to recently after a run of about 50 holidays in PP. I was surprised at how much cheaper it was compared to Majorca, at least 25%, especialy for quality food. 4.5 Euro's for a massive English breakfast, in PP i always cook my own, but at these prices it's not worth the effort, let someone else do it.

smiddy,

You can always come over to the Tapas Bar and harp on about Gran Canaria there...we'd love to hear more about your holiday.

We've only recently converted to Mallorca for hols after several years in Cephalonia where each year people complained about the prices...especially after euro conversion....we def noticed it over a 3/4 yr period. The most expensive international cuisine in Ceph was nowhere near average price in Pollensa...but in the old town Pollensa where we eat it has much more of a cool, quality feel than where we've been in the past and i'll happily pay for what we get....you pays your money and you takes your choice!!

Im an "old lad",grownup kids and a veteran of Mallorca for 25yrs or so. I know how much it costs to bring a young family on holiday,Ive done it so now Im fortunate, we can now try and appreciate relaxed surroundings and good food and that to me is why I love "northern Mallorca especially Pollenca and the port.
I know one can eat cheaply but the range of choice in PP etc must suit everyone.
Your comment about the town food is right, cool, well presented Mediterean style dishes that are not expensive by UK comparison but by and large much better value.
Nothing wrong with Magaluf,Palma Nova,Benidorm,Aya Napa,Falaraki,Bodrum, weve all done them, but we all love PP etc for the right reasons, calm laid back style, good food, nice people in a nice, safe traditional town that caters for us,the locals, mainland spanish, yong and old.
Where else can you get that?
I shall be enjoying that when I go back next week.it wont let me down.
Have a nice holiday everyone!

good call...thanks for adding the safe environment bit I missed out...heartily agree with all you've added...couldn't have put it much better...
we were heartened by huge euro mix of nations there.
Buy you a beer if you're in the old town next 2 weeks!!
