Back a week now and just about recovering from my depression, thought it was time to let you lot know how it went
13 nights with my wife and 2 daughters 9 and 1, in a private apt. in Pinaret.
We arrived at the apt. at about 9 on the mon. evening. Luggage in and down to Tolos for 9:30...starvin. Bread, olives and the bruschetta washed down with ice cold cerveza, then i had the seafood rissotto and alison had one of their brilliant pizza's,and we shared a bottle of vino blanco de la casa. Kids shared something off the childrens menu while our youngest entertained half the restaurant (she loves an audience) Cant remember what they had, or what the bill came to, seems so long ago now. Great food, great place, and a great way to start our holiday.
2nd night we were'nt sure where we would eat(spoilt for choice) We walked down the front and spotted G+G's. Well Alison, the budget queen, had spotted the set menu for 18 euro and I'd seen this new place mentioned on here, so we sat out front with a great view of the bay. The swedish and norwegian couple, Teresa and Klaus are great hosts, and the have a very talented chef in Richard, also swedish. Anyway, after bread, olives and alioli, Ali opted for the set menu and I went for the fillet steak, rare to medium(about 18 euro i think)....Great food. Set menu was a shot glass of gazpacho, which I also had on the house
it was brilliant and left us craving for more. Then my steak arrived (perfect) and Ali had chicken in a really tasty red wine sauce(I think?) both served with veg and a gorgeous creamy potato gratin. Then came the frozen cheese cake (along with the kids who had been happily colouring in the kids corner having eaten back at the apt.....budjet) and 3 forks. Really, really nice, and mostly devoured by the kids
The bill, with a bottle of can vidalet blanco and a couple of beers came to about 55/60 euro's. Not the cheapest place we ate, but some of the best food, and very friendly service....We would return
Well thats 2 nights done, will come back later with nights 3 and 4 at los pescadores and O'lume.
