Default Chilled at Ivy Garden

Had a fantastic meal at the Ivy Garden the other night. For a Wednesday there were a fair few people in, the atmosphere was relaxed and laid back and the terrace looked really pretty, but it was a tad too cold to sit out. Hubby had bacon and avocado salad, I had garlic prawns, followed by Thai fishcake for me and liver for hubby, which he said melted in the mouth. All very nicely presented. We didn’t have room for dessert but would have been included in the evening MDD of 19.50. We then had coffee and Hierbas at the bar. All in all, a great meal and will definitely take friends and family there when we get inundated over the summer.

Is the "new" Ivy Garden under the same ownership ( and more importantly do they have the same chef ) as the previous larger Ivy Garden

Many years ago this was our restaurant of choice for a special meal but we fell out with it, not because of the food quality but because the service was a tad hit and miss and imo when it was a "miss" it was almost rude. We then visited more places and now have a whole load of restaurants of choice ........ but we did used to enjoy balmy evenings in the garden .......... which by the way I thought the Codfather had got as part of their purchae of the Old Ivy Garden and had assumed that the new Ivy was just the bar that was once Ivy49

Sparky/Sandy or anyone else who has more detail ........ I think I need help

Hi CD, yes you are correct about the Codfather, which has taken over half of the garden.
The new Ivy Garden is now in what was the Ivy 49, although i have never been there i remember last year someone saying that the smell of fish and chips from the CF spoilt the garden atmosphere. The poster also complained about surly staff and "dodgy" characters at the bar. This is obviously no longer the case .
