Default Dining out August 2009

We have been visiting PP for 20 years now and try not to stick with the same restaurants all the time - this is sometimes difficult when we visit Na Ruixa and could happily return there every night because everything about it is so good, however this is our report on this years dining experience.

Na Ruixa - went there 3 times! especially loved Gazpacho and Onion Soup for starters, Sole Muniere, Chicken in Pepper sauce and the steak was best we had anywhere during our visit - 5* all round for food, wine and service.

Los Zarzales - went there 2 times for fabulous food, Majorcan starters are fantastic but huge, we should have had 2 starters instead of starter and main but absolutely everything was brilliant, including gorgeous house wine. A real treat and beautiful setting in garden - again 5* all round and highly recommended.

Tribeca - went only once - food was really great but ambience and welcome really off-putting - definitely won't go back.

Ivy Garden - went only once - what has gone wrong? this used to be our favourite place but food was really poor - definitely won't be back.

For lunches (OK yes we are a greedy crowd) we tried Ca'n Josep, was no better than OK, Sinbad, was excellent as ever, could happily dine there every day, Joker, fine and Daina hotel had lovely salads and omelettes.

In one week we couldn't try everywhere we might have liked but with the quality of food and service at Los Zarzales and Na Ruixa we will be sure to visit them in future and not waste time and money on some of the others.

Hi there and welcome!

Thanks for sharing your eating experiences with us.

Good to hear about Na Ruixa, it's not one that comes up on many reports.

Everyone's tastes are different, both in restaurant choices and in food, sorry some places didn't meet your expectations but clearly NR and Los Zarzales certainly did!
