Default Bar review - Cafe Espanyol (Ca'n Moixet)

One of our gripes years ago was waiting for ages to be served at this bar - one time we even gave up and went elsewhere, but we were very pleasantly surprised by what we found this year. It has been poshed up! I remember that going to the loo was a grim experience, but now I'm told the facilities are much improved and we appreciated the comfortable chairs and the very friendly service. They even sell tee-shirts, and we bought one for hubby for his birthday!

And, of course, the view is to die for. Hubby was in heaven - it was the whole reason for our return!

We didn't eat at the cafe but we saw plenty of other people tucking in and the food looked delicious. One of the highlights for me, though, was getting into conversation with a man who had been born and raised in Pollenca and he very kindly told me that "Moixet" means little cat (hence the picture) and you pronounce it "Moy-shet...apologies to those of you who already know this!

We had quite a long chat and what he said made me think a bit about the impact of tourism on the beautiful town. It was so interesting to get a local's perspective, even though he is now resident in the UK. Even more interesting (and astounding) were his views on Brexit, which we inevitably touched on during our conversation... Say no more!

Finding a table at night was often difficult as the place is so popular, but sitting there, with the fantastic view and the smells and sights, was absolute heaven!
