Not the beach bar!! La Roca (when it was open) was at 31 Vincent Buades and run by the other brother of Rafa (Batucada) and Miguel. Been closed for several years but behind an average frontage a very lovely courtyard garden inside which I'd like to dine in again.
I understand Maureen, of Maureen & Kenny fame, will be front of house.

We had a lovely meal in La Roca a few years ago and we were treated to a private guitar/singing performance as we were the only people in! Also, this must mean that Maureen and Kenny have left Can Balache?

Maureen did say to us in October that he hadn't been well. Not so good! Hope he's back on his feet soon.

Hi Jimbo, good to hear from you, will you be partaking this year?

Jimbo the Jambo 18-03-2017 09:54

Not sure yet as we have a very busy year ahead. Madeira in 5 weeks time then our son's wedding in June. We are celebrating our 40th. wedding anniversary this year and I retire in September so we are having a good blow out in Sorrento at the end of September. Also got Prague booked for November. But....August seems quiet?

The last i heard from the new owner is that they take over the property from April, after some redecorating they are hoping to open early May ;).
