Default Best 5 Restaurants in PP 2016

It's about that time again to start this years thread off. Rules the same as always as follows:

1. You must have been to the restaurants you are voting for this year (2016).

2. You must vote on 5 restaurants ONLY that are within PP.

3. Vote from 1st being the best & so on to 5th, NO joint decisions please just 1st to 5th, though you can vote for less than 5 if you like.

4. Points awarded are 5 points for first, 4 points for second, 3 points for third, 2 points for fourth & 1 point for fifth.

5. We all like restaurants for different reasons i.e food, location, atmosphere, service etc. so please vote as you will, but keep to the rules above as to avoid confusion & watch as the voting unfolds over the coming season & year.

Well done MWC. I take it you can only vote once per year not once per visit.

We've only had a week and ate a few times in the town so choices are limited. As ever, "best" is a difficult call but my vote goes on the basis of all-round enjoyment.

1st El Posito
2nd Stay
3rd Ca'n Cuarassa
4th Centric

We also ate at IRU and Cellar La Parra but I wouldn't associate either meal with any concept of "best" of anything.

Default Interesting

I would love to know why ,Harter's ,you did not rate Cellar la Parra and IRU . I have never eaten in Cellar but have been told by neighbours that this is one of their favourites.

As well as giving out plaudits it may help others to decide if a restaurant is worth spending money .

I appreciate that there are differing tastes ,budget etc. Was it quality ambience or something else.

Harters has done individual reviews for all the places he visited, please see this for Cellar la Parra :- http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...-la-parra.html and here for IRU :- http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...12765-iru.html.

IRU is a competent touristy restaurant. It's as good or bad as several others in that area. I've enjoyed meals at La Parra in the past. But this one was just decidedly average. And that's leaving aside the Fawlty Towers issues (see my review). Their pa amb oli was a disgrace - I think the only real food failure we had in the whole week.

It's really that for somewhere to be a "best" for me, there has to be something that's a real standout and there just wasnt with either of these places. By contrast, the lunch we had at El Posito, last Tuesday, was really good food, with spot on service and a bargain at €11. It was value for money. In this, I don't mean "cheap" - the actual best value meal we had was at 365 at the Son Brull, where the bill for the two of us was in excess of €200. But it was fab and worth every cent.

Default Oops

Now if I had clicked on the trip reports I would have found the answers to my questions !

Anyway enjoyable reading an if I save up enough euro's I might make it to Son Brull one day !

I'm with you on the dessert front so many of them sound nice and even look nice but don't deliver on flavour.

Better with some ice cream from Valls

Default Our vote

We have just returned from our annual visit (4 of us), and our agreed vote is:

1. Stay
2. Na Ruixa
3. Centric
4. El Posito
5. Coral

Positive features were:
Stay - excellent dining experience, service, location
Na Ruixa - wide menu, interesting items, warm welcome
Centric - interesting menu, good range of food
El Posito - good fish, tumbet.
Coral - warm welcome, good shared tapas, excellent lamb

All 5 are excellent value for money, and made for good evenings out. We went twice to Stay and Na Ruixa.
