Default G8 summit Formentor?

What's going on? Since about midday two military jets have been going over the Port every couple of minutes... Over the mountains from Formentor. Not knowing what was happening I seriously thought at first an airline plane was about to crash! The noise is very loud and quite scary. Also helicopters have been flying low the bay. Not sure if the rumours of a G8 summit in Formentor are true or not?

Update @ 16.53 everything appears to have finally stopped

Apparently it's the European Air Chiefs Conference (EURAC) at the Hotel Formentor.

Thanks sunnyboy. Now I know I'm not diving for cover every few minutes
They've literally just started flying over again, but I'm used to it now

Love watching the planes flying low over the bay and mountains, was used to it when i lived in the SW of England because the RAF/RN used the area for low flying training all the time. The pilots must have nerves of steel .

As much as I love the sea plane flying over the bay and doing their low approaches from behind the apartments, but I'm always in two minds about it when it comes to safety, especially in high season.

Never mind a fighter plane ...
