As ( I hope) we all want investment in good quality accommodation in PP, lets wish Mar Senses all good wishes for a successful opening season.

The new owners have done what the previous company should have done 6 or 7 years ago.

Lets erase the Oro Plya name from memory and, in any future posts, refrain from connecting OP to Mar Senses.

Once more I wish staff and management good luck!

Indeed. I still just can't get my head around how quickly they redeveloped this place. I'm astonished.

It looks very up market, however they were still glazing parts of it this afternoon.

Agreed, I'm sure it will be a hugely positive addition to the port. With the discord over the pavements it nice to have a really positive thread on here!

The Oro Playa was actually the first place that we stayed in PP, many years ago. It was quite unusual then in that it had air conditioning in the rooms, when many of the hotels on the front still had shutters and fans.

Watching the slow decline of the place has been so sad, and having seen the external and internal photos of the property now, I am very tempted to give it another try!

Ora Playa was also our very first introduction to Puerto Pollensa and we had a great time. Mar Senses certainly looks fantastic and my in laws are booked in for a week in July. Both really excited! They realise that it's adults only, but can adults use the bar area, even if they are not staying there, does anyone know?

I would imagine that using the bar would be welcomed.

This morning I had a look around.

Very nice indeed. A few oddjobs taking place but nobody seemed too worried about it, probably happy as everything is and looks brand new.

Drink prices are reasonble as well.

And I like the idea of adults only. Pity I was asked to leave before I had time to actually have one.

Thanks for the updates everyone. Sorry for the tardy response, but we're enjoying some Spring sunshine in Gran Canaria. Really glad we took a punt now and looking forward to
August...

I popped into Mar Senses Hotel to have a look around too.
It looks beautiful inside with many attractive features, furniture and light fittings. The pool sunbeds looked great too as did the lovely swimming pool.
The bar is open to non-residents and looking at the price list, it is very reasonable, with a glass of house wine at 1.90 Euro and a bottle of house wine under 5 Euros. Service standards looked good too as the barman was taking trays of drinks around to people lying on the sunbeds.
Andres the barman was keen to chat and said how happy he was with the refurbishment of the hotel. He'd been working there when it was the Oro Playa Hotel. He also mentioned that the restaurant would be open to non-residents but suggested leaving it about a week or so to try it whilst staff and systems were settling down.
I mentioned that I thought that the bar prices were very good and mentioned about feeling a bit ripped off by the Illa D'Or hotel where we had been charged a wopping 8 euros for a glass of rose cava the day before and he very kindly poured me a complimentary glass of cava! Happy days
