Just for the purpose of getting two sides to a story, this lunchtime I talked to the owner of a well known restaurant on the front, and asked him how business had been this year so far.
To be honest, he told me, too busy. "We can´t cope and dread to think what it will be like in July and August". Not having brollies has boosted his services by over 10%.
The only thing he is complained about was the lack of spending power due to the drop in value of the GBP.
He is obviously worried about Brexit and the Tourist Tax, but that´s something neither he nor the council can do anything about.

I'm honestly beginning to think you make things up MdR.
How on earth does someone know their business has increased by 10% because there's no beds and brollies out?!
Has he asked his customers or got them filling out questionnaires!
Really.

Up to you Nick. I can´t argue with him if he reckons it is so.

Why don't we all get back to stating facts and providing information rather than this back and forth "tittle tattle" which seems to have pervaded the Forum of late.
This has always been an "information forum" where members help each other.
Lets get back to helping friends, like we used to do!

To be fair El Gordo I think most of us are helping by providing their views and concerns of the state of the Port at the moment. Those of us who have seen it are providing information for those who haven't yet....but obviously these views are subject, as always, to personal opinion. It just appears that some can only see the positive to what others find a complete shambles, hence the tittle tattle.
Don't know about you but for me this is normal life....goes on in my house all the time

I'm a bit bored in work today - so I took a look at the Alcudia webcams, and yes I can definitely see rows of bed and brollies there
I'm out in a couple of weeks so I hope PP has some by then. I wonder how much they'll be charging this year - they do seem to be expensive compared to other Spanish resorts I've visited.

This is beyond a farce now isnt it. Looking at the current temperatures in PP at the moment and the increase in visitors the beds/brollies really should be in place - I foresee a lot of painful sunburn

As someone said yesterday this situation is becoming farcical now!
I'm just really glad I haven't recommended PP to anyone this year, as with the sea front looking a mess and no beds on the beach I'm sure they would wonder what I've been extolling the virtues of for years

Quite frankly I don't know whether to laugh or to cry about the last two posts.
The front is looking a darn side better than it was last year, with one way traffic and less cars clogging it up.
And not everybody come to sit on the beach, and of the ones that do a lot of them are locals who bring their own, together with their ice boxes and prepared lunches.
