Just adding my praise for Macia Batle wines, I don't think we have had them before so curious to see what all the fuss was about, we tried all of them and enjoyed them all especially the Rosado which ice cold was just what you needed in the heat. In fact we only had Mallorcean wine in restaurants and never had a bad one, will diffenetly have to try and get hold of some here.

I saw some of the white in a new Tapas bar on George St in Edinburgh last week. In the restaurant it was £27.95 per bottle, in the shop £13.95 (there are no misprints there). I think that I will wait until we get to PP !

That is expensive . I honestly do not know what the difference is between bottles of wine at £ 35-50 and those at £20.00 (restuarant prices ) is. My palate is obviously not all the educated .

Last week in a Glasgow west end restuarant we were incorrectly given a dearer bottle of wine to drink than what we had ordered (Malbourgh Sauvigon Blanc around £19.00- £20.00) is was a cloudy bay saugvinon blanc at £45.00 as it was opened before we really checked we were given it at the same price as the cheaper one.

Very nice it was too but I would honestly not known the difference if it had not been pointed out to me .

The Macia Batle 2007 is not a patch on the 2005, although still a fine bottle of wine for a fiver. The 2007 was selling in Eroski for 5.66, the 2005 for just under 10 euro. Toni in El Posito took €13 for a bottle of 2005 at dinner, which I thought a reasonable mark up?

I snaffled six bottles of the 2007 in the departures shop at Palma Airport at exactly six euros each. They will tide me through my Mallorca free months.
