Ships in the Bay
Our daily early morning check of the SeeMallorca webacm reveals a wet day for those of you in PP......
However, something of interest is the three masted sailing ship parked in the middle of the bay. According to the Marinetraffic.com website she is the 1910 built sailing yacht SALOMON. Registered in Switzerland she can accommodate 26 passengers and 3 crew. Full details here: Yacht SALOMON, Scheepsbouwwerf "De Industrie" D en Joh Boot | CHARTERWORLD Luxury Superyacht Charters |
Its disappeared into the mist now!
|
SALOMON is now en-route to Vilanova i la Geltrú. Presumably spent the last day/night in the bay whilst the bad weather passed. Now making a dash for Vilanova at 5.7knots
Search SALOMON on the Marine Traffic.com website to follow progress. |

Interesting, well spotted. It had been there for about 4 days though so must have been a longer planned stop. |
It certainly sounds a lovely vessel. Would have loved to have been in beautiful PP to see it in the bay.:)

I use Localiza Todo (http://www.localizatodo.com/) to check out boats and ships and also airplanes.

So does anyone know what that orange hulled boat is?
It's been there for some time and i assume it's not Easyboat! C |
I was wondering the same. it's been here for the 4 months that I have I think.
|
How come you guys are fine on the webcam, and I appear to still be stuck in the past at last Thursday? Any ideas anyone, please?

The camera is kindly provided by Prestige Villas. I've asked them to look into it:

My guess is that there are guests in the apartment so they are unable to get access to the webcam. |

it looks very utilitarian like a research ship or something like that.

And now there is a mega huge yacht, just behind La Fortaleza. It's not mine! C |
It’s called Rising Sun, and unless you are Larry Ellison in disguise, no it’s not !
|
We sailed very close to Rising Sun today and it's the biggest and most beautiful yacht I've ever seen. Serious dosh

Able One
Able One of Whitby has been anchored to the east of La Fortaleza for the past few days.
She is a new build by Parkol Marine of Whitby, based on the design of a class of American Naval tug from the 1940's. There is accommodation for 6 and is listed as a 'pleasure craft'. Internet talk suggests she is owned by a local (successful, obviously) Hartlepool/Hull businessman. I think the clue here is in the name of the tug. Photos can be seen on Marine Traffic. |
didn't Bruce Springsteen visit on Rising Sun a few years ago?
