In June 2005, someone posted a review of the Sis Pins hotel on the Holidays Uncovered website, about her trip to Puerto Pollensa that same month.

She spoke of a "Lovely walk to the Boquor Valley and a more challenging one across the little mountain to Cala san Vicente." (This is assuming, of course, that she actually walked both hikes.) So the complained-of gate may have been reopened, or she found a detour.

Any further elaboration as to the present status of the PP-CSV walk would be most appreciated.

CSV walk is closed. Something to do with local landowner objecting to hikers.
B Valley is open. Very basic maps available from the local Tourist Info office.

Default Walk to CV

My friend and 3 others walked over in July, think they just ignored the farmer. As Del-Boy would say, "he who dares wins"

I spoke to a couple when we were over 2 weeks ago and they told me they'd walked from PP to CSV and never noticed a thing!.
I plan to walk it in 7 weeks time i'll let you know. If you have an update before then please let us know.

take care.

Can anyone help with directions as to where these walks begin etc. Can tin helmets be left at the gate to the farm?

Walk Mallorca has a good description of this walk and many many other walks in the area.

Have just emailed the Tourist Information Office in PP to ask if they had any update and disappointingly their response was "This walk is permanently closed".

I had heard from friends earlier in the year that there was some move on the part of the local council to get the path re-opened. Does anyone know where we could petition by email to try and get this path re-opened?

The local Goverment is spending a shed load of money opening up old routes and repairing the walls and road surfaces along these "Donkey tracks" this is to encourage eco-tourism. I wonder if they would be of help?
Anybody know who to contact?
Could we arrange a petition online and see if the local council can help?
Take care.

Gosh, we seem to have started 2006 in a fighting mood - all these talks of petitions - Pine Walk Fast Food and CSV Walks. . . . what about the road works and building work???
I had a meeting with the Councillor for Tourism in PP on Monday and he confirmed that the walk currently remains closed. The owner last year decided that this was private land, it went to court and the Judge ruled that the land was actually his private property and not for public use. The owners object to people passing along the front of their property but there is a glimpse of hope that a new path may be found passing along the rear of their property and the town hall planners are discussing the possibility and options with the owner as a matter of urgency. I would suggest that all complaints and objections are registered with the Tourist Informatoin Office so they are aware how many people are waitng for a solution and do not let the issue rest. Ask for one of their questionnaires and meanwhile let us be patient and hope for a solution quickly. I will keep you informed if and when I get any more info.

No, there are lots of us here desperate to get it re-open also. I live very close to the start of the walk and often get stopped as I go out to my car and asked the way so it is very important that this gets put back on our PP hotspots as soon as possible. We could also push for the Castell del Rei, Ternelles walk to be reopened also. I understand that this is a `public useŽ road which means that the owner should give some access, however restricted, and even after going to court in Madrid some years ago nothing has happened and the town hall need to keep insisting. It used to be open on Saturdays and that was fine - at least it was something!
However, I shall naturally keep you informed on any updates, meanwhile everyone keeps plodding over Boquer!!
