Security!

just a thought. There has been less posts on the forum this summer - in my view. The reason may be that when I try to log in on any apple device it says - Website not secure! I am on my friends Microsoft laptop and it is OK.

My desktop also says not secure!

I am not having any problem logging on with either my Imac or Iphone.

It says not secure on my works PC, which doesn't matter, not all websites are, and you are not entering any sensitive information

Issue is probably around whether you are using http or https at the beginning of the url. Standard for browser now, espcially with log ins is only to us https. Site owner needs to secure. Most hosts do it foc these days.

I think the reason for less posts is because there is a Facebook group which is very popular. Not everyone is on Facebook but those who are once they have joined have information come up on their feeds.

Hopefully you will all now see a secure version of both this forum and the main website puertopollensa.com now.

I was aware that it needed doing - just had some tidying up to do. :)

I'm not really sure why this site needs HTTPS.

Are you thinking of taking on bookings for the Marriott Hotel chain perhaps?

Ha! Ha! It shouldn't be necessary but as some visitors have found, some browsers especially Google Chrome make it quite clear when a site is "not secure". Unfortunately Google rules...

I do think that the forum has moved more to a strictly information forum whereas the Facebook groups cover information but also debate. That is not to criticise either but just to set out what I see as the difference. I think that may be one of the reasons for there being less activity on the forum over the past while.
