Thanks again, everyone. It was hell of a scare at the time. I had to have a stiff drink yesterday afternoon when all had been sorted.
We booked last August as soon as we'd come back from PP. We thought as Villas Abroad had taken over Open Holidays that all would be ok, and we were ticking off the weeks and months on the calandar for almost a year.
For next year I shall be booking direct with Marfran (probably do it next week) and then book my own flight over the Internet. But I know this year will be extra special as we almost lost the holiday.
Fortunately, my wife retired from teaching this month so we can go any time of the year now, not just in August. Having said that I love going in August. Great atmosphere, lots of people. Weather great.
Just 48 hours and we'll be there. I've even bought a PP t-shirt this year! I'm the short bald one with a bit of pot-belly.

Hope you have a wonderful time - the feeling of relief must be enormous!

We also booked almost a year ago - the day after we returned from our last holiday (although not with Villas Abroad) so I know what the sense of anticipation is like!

Default Pollpot Sky Bargains

Thanks for the information about Sky Bargains. I have not been contacted by anyone. However, I have been in contact with Jet2.com who have assured me that the booking is safe. We booked through Sky Bargains, as we have done for a number of years ,in June. I put a friend in touch with them recently and she has contacted her hotel etc. and they have confimed her booking, so everything looks o.k. (having said that apparently according to the news Jet2 and Monarch are in danger of closing !!!).

Hope everything goes alright for you and you have agood holiday.
Let us know how you get on.

Can you provide a web link to the news article? I have tried Google-ing it and can't find anything. I would be really interested to read the article as Jet2 fly from Belfast.

Hi Sharon

Thanks for asking the sensible question which I should have asked rather than just panic. As I'm also booked with Jet2 in October I'd be very interested in any information.

Very glad to hear that those booked with Sky Bargains look like they're going to be okay. Hope all goes well.

I also cannot find any adverse information regarding those airlines.

Please be very careful when posting such information (about any company or person). If it cannot be substantiated we will have to remove it as we could be held liable for posting accurate information.

Default Sky Bargains

Did not want to cause any panic regarding airlines.
As I said it appears our airline booking with Jet 2 is apparently o.k.(this was booked through Sky Bargains). However I understand that according to Granada Reports and the Daily Express concerns were expressed whether smaller cut price airlines would be able to continue next year due to fuel prices rising so astronomically. Unless there was a huge increase in prices.
This has been well documented but at present, as I said, everything seems o.k.

That is rather different to stating an airline is ' in danger of closing' especially since Monarch which is part of Cosmos is hardly small. Please be careful what you state here. Thanks.
