Default Open Holidays Refund

I have just received a refund of my money paid to Open Holidays by asking my bank to claim through my Visa Debit Card. I thought I would mention this in case people think they can only claim if they have paid by credit card. However, I think it has to be a Visa Debit Card.

It's useful to know. We paid by Visa Debit Card and never thought there was a chance of refund as it wasn't a credit card.
I'll go contact the bank...

A quick update...
Contacted the bank - Barclays.
They didn't commit themselves either way as to whether they do or don't offer refunds for payment by Visa Debit card BUT...
...the forms are in the post for us to complete, which suggests that they DO refund - I'm sure they're not just printing forms up for us !
They did say that claims are time limited so you need to act quickly.

See the comment here in the Observer observer.guardian.co.uk/cash/story/0,,1884667,00.html Basically they say "Because Open Holidays had not paid the owner for the accommodation and you had not yet taken the holiday" Barclays did refund the amount paid.

Thanks again to Curlytom as we wouldn't have considered making a claim to the bank for payments made by debit card without reading this thread.
Information well worth knowing as today we've received a refund of over 800 :rollin :rollin :rollin
