Hipermarkets in Palma are almost always closed on Sundays. LIDL now have a store in Pto Alcudia which is also open until 3.

Post Lidl

Just a bit off thread (sorry Sparky) but I have been told there will be a new Lidl opening opposite Plomer off the main road to Pollença. A bit of healthy competition for Eroski can´t be a bad thing me thinks !

UATW that would be good. Hubby might need to get a motor on his shopping trolley though .

Brilliant!! can't wait, I don't like Eroski and it may improve their store. Ideal hubby can browse in Plomer and I can do the shopping. x

Agree Suzy. Eroski seems to have dropped standards of food and upped prices! Family just back from a weeks holiday and avoided Eroski in favour of Hiper because of the prices. Competition can only be a good thing for shoppers!

We have always found Hiper Centro to be better than Eroski .

I suppose it's what you are used to that you carry on using, until you get pulled up short over something, then you look at it with a different view. Convenience was our main factor in using Eroski, but if they outprice themselves like SPA, then Hiper it will be!

I think most visitors in particular go to either of the 2 Eroski's in PP because Hiper is down a side street and not atall advertised, you wouldn't really just happen across it.

Talking about Eroski, and yes, I know it's off topic, has all that graffiti been removed from the main one at the aeroplane rondabout and have they finished painting the other one in that bright red !!

It did need painting but blimey, it could have been a bit more subtle !!!
