Such selfless self deprecation is above and beyond the line of duty. We are touched at such caring, and thank you GG! And now my plane awaits!

There is a small blacksmiths in one of the backstreets behind what was the Caprabo (cant remember the name) He makes all kinds of items - anything from a brooch to a bedstead - we often buy something small to remind us of the holiday. Last year we bought an iron bottle carrier - definitely something different.

Has anybody visited this place? I can't see a building where they say they are on the map.

EDIT - I think I've found it. Is it at 39° 45.732'N, 2° 57.998'E?

On that note, are the Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa and Sineu markets very good for fresh meat, cheese, fruit and veg or are they more geared up for textiles and gifts?

They are, but not meat apart from Jamons. You are probably better off in a Supermarket or Butchers for that.

You can't get fresher than Sineu for meat, it's the only live cattle market on the island.

Have fun

Lucien, i don't know about Sineu but PP, Pollensa and Alcudia markets all sell fruit, veg, cheese, meat and fish(not PP).

Thanks, both. I'd prefer to shop at the markets but I realise we will depend on the supermarkets for most things. Sineu will be interesting. My Mallorcan pal recommended it but she didn't mentioned it was a live cattle market!
