Default Spar

I've read on here that the Spar (on Formentor Road) is the most expensive place to shop. For us this is the nearest to where we stay so used it last year for daily bread, water, wine etc and spent ALOT. We do a big shop at the start of our hols at Eroski but wondered if we should be using one of the other local, nearer supermarkets for daily bits and pieces eg. the Voramor if they are cheaper than the Spar.

Can any seasoned PP visitor offer advice on this one as I must say I admire the wonderful advice you kindly give out to other holidaymakers.

thanks

Personally I think the Spar on Formentor Road is a cracking little business and we use it all the time for convenience items plus the wonderful freshly made filled baguettes and reasonably priced morning coffees

We also buy bread from there and croisants and pan au chocolat and yes it is more expensive than the supermarket for these items but its so convenient and we are on our hols for gods sake ........ if you add up the price per hour you actually spend getting there and renting or owning your apartment ...... an extra 30cents on a 1 euro baguette is a drop in the ocean .... no matter how many of the flamin things you buy

What we don't do is use it for our large shop ................... so its just like home really you tend to do your large shop in a big supermarket of your choice but do your convenience and specialist ( meat veg deli etc ) shopping at specialist shops or the most convenient local outlet

PS they also have Wi fi and nthey are really nice people
