Default Nearest PP supermarket

Hi

We are planning to arrive in PP in a couple of weeks time for the first time in a couple of years. Just wanted to check what the nearest big supermarket was in PP. Have heard a rumour that one may have closed/is closing down? Many thanks.

You a probably thinking of Caprabo which was on the second island as you come into the Port from the town. It is still there but is now a Eroski.

Not sure where you are staying but there are several supermarkets in PP - in my view Hiper is better than Eroski by far.

Yes, Hyper Centro is a brilliant supermarket...recommended by Sparky, I seeked it out this year, usually just buy wherever is nearest but with being there a bit longer this year I thought I would be sensible and do one or two big shops. So glad I did, it was a real pleasure to shop in, the variety and choice is amazing and real nice staff.....think the prices were good too inclined on holiday just to buy and worry later...but I do think they were good.....Sparky knows the best places

They do the most fantastic cheesecake ever in the Hiper bakery. I always buy a big slice intending to save half for the next day, but unfortunately (for my waistline) I never manage to save it!

Hi Pieski, I assume you will have a couple of cars between you so no problem visiting the supermarkets, on another thread there has been some discussions regarding which ones to go to, also about fishmongers and butchers which will be useful to see regarding your bbq supplies, hope this helps http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...permarket.html

Havnt sorted cars out yet as they seen quite expensive . We were just going to get taxis which shud be cheaper than the price of two cars for a week. Was just wondering if you could give me the names of the best supermarkets qand where they are situated would be a great help
