Smile Victoria's Animal Refuge

Hiya ppl,

I know its a bit of a hike, but the Charity Shop for Victoria's Animal Refuge ( at the burger king roundabout in Alcudia) is a really worthy cause.

Hi folks,

Thank god i've been to PP before. All the chat of Aliens and Puppy's would have me thinking hard about what I was letting myself in for when I come on my hols next week ;o)

I have a question about the charity shops, and as i've not been put off with the Alien chat, i'll ask away. As I said, I am arriving next week for a weeks hols and the kids will definitely want to buy inflatables/lilo's etc. I know that in the past there was a charity shop that took in folks inflatables when they were going home, and sold them for a small profit, and then took them back when they people went home, and then sold them on again, and so the cycle goes on...

I like the idea of recycling, and also helping the charity shop out. Is this the kind of thing the salvation army sells?

Also, what day is the market on?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Jon

The Childrens Charity (Allen Graham 4kidz) is on the edge of the market up from the Bar Cultural and often has inflatables for sale. They will also take any of your unwanted items including furniture. The market in PP is on Wednesday.

Salvation army has a good range too and always very reasonable. Market day is Wednesday in port and Sunday in old town.

Default Charity Shops

Does anyone know when the Salvation Army & Allen Graham charity shops are open? Are they open on a Sunday?

We're thinking to hit them the day after we arrive in August and see if we can get some beach stuff.

PS: What does LOL stand for???

Thanks, Sparky.

Was hoping to bag some cheap folding chairs - I guess we'll have to sit on the towels on the Sunday!

May have some large items to get rid of this year; double bed and side tables, large display cabinet and even the TV! I will probably attempt to advertise the TV to be collected at easter if we get the new one sorted out, but with the bed etc it may be a different matter. If we dont manage to sell them, which Charity Shop will it suit the most to take large items, and come and collect them?

Hi Belladonna,

I went into the Salvatex shop to ask about that. They will takes beds & furniture etc but you need to phone a central number as they co-ordinate the collections. Am afraid I can't find the card but they will give it to you if you pop in.
