Question Spit Roast Chicken

There is nothing nicer than rustling up a nice salad when on holiday - we fancied a ready cooked chicken to go with it but could not find any. Our apartment is very central in the port, does anyone know where you can purchase spit roast chickens? I know there is a place in Gommar but this is too far out as we do not drive.

Any help would be appreciated.

We saw them advertised at the Codfather and also they were on display at the little supermarket around the corner - roughly opposite Dover. Sorry can never remember road names.

They do them at the small supermarket on the formentor road between the travel agents and where tango used to be.

Default spit roast chicken

The best spit roast chicken in PP is sold at the Golden Lion, next to the Pollensa Park Hotel,it is well worth the walk. The chicken from the small supermarket on the Formentor Road is OK but the small bar next to the Caprabo also does very good and cheap spit roast chicken . Get there early as it soon goes.

The Golden Lion at the Pollensa park hotel does do excellent take away chicken but is a bit of a walk from central PP also at 9 euro per chicken is not exactly cheap. The supermarket on formentor road is Jordi's and they do take away chicken as does Al Fresco take away shop round corner from Oro Playa apartments.

The Golden Lion is THE best but noticed they had spit roast chickens at The Iguana take away just off square near Tiberi.

It stays open really late and is brilliant if you have a late arrival to the Port. Our flight was delayed and we didn't get to PP 'till gone 12 and it was still really busy. We had pizzas and they were good

I think Mark mentioned in his post yesterday that he bought roast chicken in Casa Isobel which is in the centre of the town.

Yes Casa Isabel sells them for €8.50, they are big and fall off the bone delicious. Caller Roger De Flor 19, round the corner from El Posito near the back of the church.

Thanks to everyone - we're out again in September and will certainly try out some of your suggestions - Casa Isabel sounds fantastic - The prices do seem to be a bit high but having said that they do not have the buying power of Tesco etc.

Thanks again

Default Spit roast chicken

We were out in PP last week and found that the butchers near the Viper supermarket did great spit roast chickens. Not cheap at 8.50, but well worth it.
Think the road's called Calle de Xaloc, it's one along from the road with El Posito in as you head towards the main avenue.
