Default Interesting puchases?

Hi
As I confessed to liking shopping - just wondered of anyone had any similar experiences?
Fuelled by a very relaxed lunch in PP and finished off by a suprise bottle of cava from the restaurant, I decided the stroll back to the villa (minus husband who inhibits me), via a few local shops would be good for me.
That really nice (sort of fancy goods) shop - at the back of Ben & Jerry's ice cream place - beckoned to me.
Quick as a flash I sidled in there and emerged lighter in pocket & delighted with my purchase of a pair of cast-iron geese (very tasteful, verdigris finish - no rubbish for me) about 800mm high and quite heavy, and tottered triumphantly back to the villa.
Over the next few days the ealisation that I needed to pack them (or carrythem as hand luggage) filled me with a sense of impending doom. Husband didn't stop laughing for days.
Eventually after much measuring I bought a large holdall packed the geese in towels and just booked them in with the rest of the luggage.
I still smile as I look at them sitting in my living room.
However the real problem that developed towards the end of that holiday was, when under similar circumstances my daughter bought the cast iron (leaping salmon) fountain.....
Wonder what the guys on the scanner at the airport said that day?
Anyone else make any interesting purchases?

Hi Rosie10, you've really brightened my day up with that encounter, hilarious! My experience was with car parking. This year was my first time at driving abroad which I wasn't particularly looking forward to, hubby reckoned I was doing much better than he had, otherwise translated he could drink as much as he liked! The fortnight went very well until the last day and whilst better half locked cases I would go and get the car ready to load cases. Unfortunately the car had disappeared!! Hubby thought I was taking the micky and stomped off to find the car, but alas it wasn't there. It had been towed away I had parked it on tuesday evening at 11.30pm and apparently there is a sign saying if it is not moved early weds morning ie. market day it will be towed away so the motto is watch where you park!! Almost missed the flight and had to pay £60 fine, never lived it down!!
