Panaderia
As well as the little grocers at the bottom of the steps another regular shop for us in Pollensa was the little panaderia in Placa Vella beside the church. At first we thought we'd just been passing at the wrong times but a look inside seems to suggest it has closed. Another casualty?
We tried a few other bread shops before settling Ca'n Bisquerra in Carrer Jonquet as our favourite. I'd never heard of or tasted Cabello de Angel before this holiday but the pastries filled with this from here were a real treat! |
Just returned after a week in the old town - was so good to be back! As MalcolmS mentions, the small, family run, grocers at the bottom of the steps (Botiga del Calvari) was indeed closed, which was a shame as we always used to enjoy visiting. However, we then discovered that they had moved, and are now at a new location on Carrer de Monti-Sion, bang next door to Le Font del Gall. The shop has a 'deli' type feel, but the meat counter is no longer. The owner pointed out that his brother had opened a separate butchers on Carrer de Cecili Metel, also called Botiga del Calvari.

Gosh , we walked past that many times and never went in thinking it was only wine. Next time.
Thanks @Jonsey We've tried many butchers in Pollenca over the years but always end up going back to Toni at Eu Serral Gourmet. |
