Limes.....

For some reason, I have always struggled to find limes in the port so usually bring around 20 from home.
Has anyone had the same issue or know where they are available?
They are very important as G and T's are not the same without fresh lime juice 😨😨

Eroski is rubbish for limes but you can normally get them in Hyper Centro. I agree a G and T is nothing without lime.

You bring out 20??? Do they all arrive intact?:eek:

Have you tried strips of cucumber peel instead of lemon or lime ..it's fabulous...was introduced to it a few years ago ..( when i peel a cucumber for salad I put the strips in a bag in the freezer 👍😃 )

Brought limes in Eroski and the Euro market on the front, for PIMMS not G & T ;)

I've had cucumber in Hendrix gin and it's is really lovely. What a great idea to freeze the strips. Thanks Cath :)

With all the trouble in the world, the only thing we can find to discuss on the Forum, (and the most important), is whether to use Lime or Cucumber in our Gin & Tonics!!

GREAT, lets keep it that way!! Not too long now.

P.S. I'm a Lime man ,myself!!

If you have a garden then plant a lime tree, they are readily available at the garden centres. We are now self sufficient in limes and lemons too.

Cucumber you say?
Hmmmmm, never tried this. Does it add to the taste?
I find that lime juice really mixes well with the gin.

I may ask for one at Bony's next week but will probably end up with a massive marrow sticking out the glass.

I'm off now for a Jack Daniels and coke with a slice of chicken in it😲😲

Well the person in front of me this morning at the Eroski store by the Seaplane roundabout must have been reading this thread as they were purchasing six limes. Also try a sprig of fresh rosemary with your G & T.

Yes cucumber really does make a difference even in good old Larios 🍸🍸🍸

Never tried Larios.
Is that one of the local ones?
We usually buy Thomas gin from the Spar shop with the big bent tree outside it.
One litre for 5.99 euros. Can't go wrong.
Also really good used as screen wash😈😈
