Default Cherries

just bought some delicious Spanish cherries back here in the UK. They were £16 per kilo - I don't remember them being anything near that in Pollensa last month! Out of interest, can anyone confirm what a kilo of cherries in the markets are over there just now please?

Cherries are fabulous from the Wednesday market but can even be pricey in height of summer. Believe it or not but bought 2 kilos in Newcastle for 75p last week! They were beautiful!

Shows I need to shop around! I was handed one in M&S to try and it was delicious. Couldn't believe they wanted £16 a kilo for them tho'.

Yes, think you are shopping at the wrong places. They were £3.99 per kilo at Aldi last week.

In Colchester they were £2 per lb (still use them here!) & £3 per lb at the greengrocer. Lovely Spanish cherries. Have just finished them!

Here in Kent we have the most delicious local cherries in season right now - please do try those if they're in the shops where you are - far less food miles! (I agree the Spanish ones are gorgeous too.)

We get lovely ones in Essex too. Had some fabulous ones last July but they don't seem to be around yet.
