Geo-Tagging your photographs
I've been messing around on Flickr lately and come across an interesting feature that you may find useful.
If it takes your fancy, you can add a "geotag" to your photograph which, when clicked, opens up a google map that takes you to the place where the photograph was taken. The link below is an example. Unfortunately this was taken last summer and I can't guarantee the accuracy of the location, so I have just selected somewhere along the pinewalk, to give you an idea. Looks to me like you can add a fairly decent level of accuracy to the location It may be fun in showing where you were when you took the shot, or may even be useful if you are trying to show someone where you apartment is (for example) Anyway, thought you may like to know. I can talk you through how to do it if you like, but I just picked it up grom the geotagging forum on flickr Not been contributing too much lately (hopelessly addicted to flickr I'm afraid), but still reading all of the threads and enjoyed myself in the chat a few weeks back. Hope to speak to you all in there again soon - keep up the good work Update: Can't get the blasted link to work. I'll keep trying but in the meantime you would have to go into my photostream on flickr and look for the photo thats called Pollensa Bay. There is a comment underneath that says "see where this photo was taken" Terry |
